About Cure Checker
In short: Cure Checker is a free website that gathers the latest work to cure serious conditions/diseases, or to make life with them more manageable, into one place. We update it in plain language (reports on incurable diseases every morning, reports on other conditions once a week), with a source for every claim, so patients and families don't have to hunt through the internet to find out what's new.
Why we built it
Millions of people are living with serious, often life-limiting conditions/diseases. Some are desperate for a cure. Others are focused on getting through each day and want to know what might make life easier. Around the world, scientists, doctors, companies and patient groups are working on both. But what they learn is scattered across medical journals, clinical trial registries, regulators' announcements, company press releases and the news. It's hard to find, harder to understand, and it changes constantly.
Cure Checker exists to close that gap. We believe that anyone searching for answers, or for hope, should be able to see what's happening in one place without a medical degree.
Our mission
To create a centralized, trustworthy and easy-to-read home for updates on some of the most critical work being done to cure these conditions/diseases or make life with them more manageable.
- One place. Research, trials, approvals, and news for each condition/disease together, instead of spread across dozens of sites.
- Regular updates. Reports on incurable diseases are refreshed every morning, so a result published yesterday can show up today. Reports on other conditions are refreshed once a week.
- Plain language. Written for patients, families and caregivers, not just specialists.
- Honest about progress. We report failed and disappointing results as clearly as promising ones, and we say when something is only early research.
- Free for everyone. There's no sign-up and no paywall. The site runs on donations and may carry paid advertisements.
What you'll find in every report
Each condition/disease has its own page in the same format, so you always know where to look:
- Most recent cure information: where the search for a cure stands today, in a few clear points.
- What causes it: a short, visual explanation of the biology.
- Treatments that are working: what's approved, what's promising, and how current care compares. A short list of centers recognized for expertise follows.
- Latest studies: new results and trials, newest first, each with its source.
- How other countries treat it: approvals and treatments that may be available abroad, including some people might otherwise miss.
- Every registry, checked: live searches of public trial and research databases.
- Natural remedies and daily care: what has evidence behind it, and what doesn't.
- Support groups and communities: places to connect with others living with the same condition.
- Sources: a list of everything the report relies on.
Where the information comes from
Cure Checker draws on public sources: clinical trial registries such as ClinicalTrials.gov, the ISRCTN registry and the EU Clinical Trials Information System; medical literature through PubMed and Europe PMC; drug approvals from agencies such as the FDA and the European Medicines Agency; peer-reviewed journals; company announcements; established medical news; and patient organizations. Some sections load directly from these databases each time you open a page.
We only include a claim if it comes from a source we can link to. If we can't confirm something, we leave it out or mark it with a dash, which means "not verified," never "no."
How it's kept up to date
Cure Checker is created and updated with the help of artificial intelligence. Every morning (once a week for reports on other conditions), automated tools gather the newest information, summarize it, and publish the updated reports. No doctors or other medical professionals review the updates before they go live, so mistakes are possible. That's why every entry links to its source, so you can read the original and judge it for yourself. Our Terms of Use explain this in full.
What Cure Checker is not
- Not medical advice. Please talk with your doctor before changing any treatment, medicine or supplement, and never delay care because of something you read here.
- Not a recommendation. Listing a drug, trial, supplement or care center is not an endorsement, and early research often doesn't hold up in later studies.
- Not a ranking. The care centers we list are ones recognized for expertise in a condition, not "the best" in any official sense.
Growing, one condition/disease at a time
We add new conditions/diseases every week, using the same analysis and the same format for each. If the condition you care about isn't covered yet, please check back soon.
Keeping it free
Gathering and publishing this research every day has costs, and Cure Checker is free to read. We operate on voluntary donations and may also carry paid advertisements. If the site has helped you or someone you love, you can chip in using the links in the "Support Cure Checker" section on the home page.
Neither donations nor advertising buy influence over what we publish. Advertisements are not part of our reports, a company's ad is not an endorsement of its product by Cure Checker, and an advertiser never decides what a report says.
